2. Have you surpassed the goals you set for yourself or for your children?
One of our members said, “When I was a little girl, many fortune-tellers (점쟁이) visited
our house becasue my mother was a Buddhist. Whenever they looked at me and asked
my birthday, many of them talked about me like this. “This girl isn’t going to get married.
She will stay single!” Since that time on, I was unconsciously obsessed with the fortune-
tellers’ predictions. Many times, I got nightmares in which all my friends got married
except me. And I felt horrible after nightmares. Time has passed, and fortunately I got
married, having two sons. Thank God! I greatly surpassed my expectations.”
